Today marks a significant milestone for Moneyfields FC Women as club stalwart Charley Wilson-Wilton made her 100th appearance in the yellow and blue.
Charley becomes just the third player to reach a century of appearances for the club, joining her current teammates Kim Fuller (123) and Emma Moody (103) in the Moneyfields centurion club—an achievement that speaks volumes about her dedication and impact.
Fittingly, her landmark game came in a crucial Hampshire Cup semi-final clash against AFC Bournemouth. While the result may not have gone our way, this evening we should focus our thoughts on celebrating Charley’s immense contributions and achievements on the pitch.
Charley first joined Moneyfields in the club’s debut season (2017/18), making an immediate impact with four appearances and an incredible eight goals.
After a three-season spell away, she returned in 2021/22 and played a pivotal role in our title-winning campaign, helping secure promotion to the FA Women’s National League. Since then, she has been a commanding presence at the heart of the team, embodying the club’s values with her resilience, leadership, and unwavering determination.
Her influence hasn’t gone unnoticed—her teammates honoured her as Player’s Player of the Season for 2023/24, a testament to the respect and admiration she commands within the squad. During that same season, she also proudly wore the captain’s armband, leading by example both on and off the pitch. Charley was also the face of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup featuring heavily in the national coverage of the Fourth Round, including being featured on BBC’s Football Focus.
Regardless of today’s result, reaching 100 appearances is a remarkable achievement and one that highlights Charley’s consistency, loyalty, and lasting impact at Moneyfields FC Women.
On behalf of everyone at Moneyfields Football Club, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Charley on this fantastic milestone.
Expect Charley to be at the forefront of our attacks as we seek to secure second position in the league (the highest finish in the club’s history) and as we seek to defend our PDFA Cup.
