This Sunday marks our final league fixture of the season, as we welcome third-placed Swindon Town to the John Jenkins Stadium in our WNL South West curtain closer. Kick-off is at 2:00pm.
In our last league outing, we returned from North Somerset with an emphatic 6–1 victory over Portishead Town. It was a performance that perfectly showcased the spirit and quality we’ve built throughout this campaign.
We were due to face Portsmouth U23s last Thursday in the PDFA Cup semi-final, but unfortunately, our opponents were unable to field a full side. We’re still awaiting confirmation on whether the match will be rescheduled, with a potential final against AFC Portchester lined up for April 30th, as we look to retain the PDFA Cup, which we proudly lifted last year at Westleigh Park.
Until then, all focus turns to Sunday and the visit of Richard Wood’s Swindon Town. It’s set to be a memorable occasion, not just for the football on show, but for what it represents—a club on the rise, brimming with ambition and heart.
Farewell, Legend
Sunday will also be tinged with emotion as we bid farewell to club icon Charles Wilson-Wilton, who will be departing at the end of the season. Charley is one of three players to join our inaugural ‘One Hundred Club’, alongside Kimberly Fuller and Emma Moody, each having made over 100 appearances for the club.

Pre-Match Thoughts
Manager Karl Watson shares his message ahead of our final WNL South West clash:
“I’m delighted to welcome everyone to the John Jenkins Stadium one last time this season. While the result won’t affect the final standings, this is set to be a fiercely competitive fixture between two of the league’s top sides—both eager to end on a high.
Finishing second marks the highest league position in our club’s history, and I’m incredibly proud of the players and staff for everything we’ve achieved. There’s a small part of me that wonders if we could’ve pushed AFC Bournemouth even further, but what we’ve done is still extraordinary.
We’re not done. Next season, our mission is clear: we’re coming back to win the division.”
Captain Kiera Heslam also reflects on the season:
“It’s hard to believe we’re already at the season’s end—it’s flown by. Personally, it’s been a tough one. Being sidelined through injury was frustrating, but watching the team’s incredible performances during that time kept me motivated throughout rehab.
To finish second, against teams with Premier League-level backing, shows how far we’ve come. Credit to AFC Bournemouth for their unbeaten season—but their success gives us something to aim for. We’ve seen the standard, and now we need to meet it.
Whatever happens with the rescheduled PDFA semi-final, we’re determined to finish strong and defend our trophy.”
