Moneyfields Women are thrilled to announce the signing of promising young goalkeeper Mia King from Charlton Athletic.

The 20-year-old arrives with ambition and hunger for success, having gained valuable experience at Charlton and with Southampton FC’s U21 setup.

Mia is ready to take the next step in her development and is looking forward to making her mark in senior football with the Moneys. “I’m really happy to be here,” Mia said. “I can’t wait to get some experience in the women’s game and start proving myself.”

When asked what attracted her to the club, Mia pointed to Head Coach Karl Watson’s clear vision and winning mentality, describing, “It was Karl’s desire to win things that drew me to this club. I want to win a trophy this season and I believe that we have all of the tools within this squad to give us every chance.”

Mia is also pleased to see a familiar face at her new club, in the shape of fellow new signing Daisy Beard, “It always helps – it makes it easier to settle in and get to know everyone else.”

She also described her excitement to play alongside recent signing and experienced goalkeeper Hannah Haughton, “There’s a lot I can learn from her. I can’t wait to ask questions and learn as much as I can.”
