This Sunday afternoon, Moneyfields Women welcome Fulham to the John Jenkins Stadium for the penultimate fixture of their pre-season schedule.
Steve Jaye’s Fulham side are familiar opponents, having claimed a pre-season victory over the Moneys ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Fulham arrive with momentum, having clinched the London & South East Women’s Regional Football League Premier Division title last season. Their hard-fought triumph earned them promotion to the FA Women’s National League South East, setting the stage for what promises to be a competitive encounter.
Moneys go into the match high in confidence after victory against Leyton Orient last weekend. After a slow start, they ran our comfortable winners, with new signing Ali Hall scoring her first goal for the club.
In the build-up to the match, Hall said, “It was great to score another goal, especially at our home ground in front of our supporters, but I’m more pleased with the team performance. We are getting stronger with each game”
Adding, “We had a good first half and grew into the game, showing even more dominance in the second half. After a strong week of training, we’re aiming to carry that momentum forward. Fulham are newly promoted and a talented side, I’m looking forward to the challenge”
The visitors will be expected to include two players very well known to the city, with Jade Bradley and Leeta Rutherford both having had successful spells at city rivals, Portsmouth Women. There will also be some new faces in the Fulham ranks in the shape of summer signings Taome Oliver from Oxford United and Molly Holder from Stoke City.
