This weekend, Moneyfields Women conclude their pre-season campaign with a match against Norwich City at The Nest. The fixture also marks the culmination of a three-day training camp in the city.

Moneys’ opponents will provide a significant challenge as they, like Moneys, aim to improve on last season’s second-place finish in the FA Women’s National League Division One South East.

In their last outing, played last weekend, they fell 4-0 to third-tier Watford at the Avant Training Centre.

Norwich City have recently announced the signing of their first-ever professional players: Ellie Bishop, Eloise King, Eloise Hall, and Ceri Flye.

  • Ellie Bishop (20, defender) – Norfolk-born, returned to Norwich last season after spells with Watford and Tottenham Hotspur’s academy. Described the moment as a surprise and a proud family occasion.
  • Eloise Hall (18, striker) – Joined from AFC Bournemouth after helping them win promotion, scoring six goals in 13 matches. Keen to score and excited to align with the club’s vision.
  • Eloise King (22, midfielder) – Former Ipswich Town player with nearly 100 appearances and England U19 experience, signed after a season with Hashtag United.
  • Ceri Flye (22, defender) – Joined Norwich in 2022 after eight years at Cambridge City; proud to turn professional and focus more on her game.

The move follows head of women’s football Flo Allen’s announcement that professional terms would be introduced, with hopes to eventually offer them to all players. Norwich have twice finished runners-up in the FA Women’s National League Division One South East, narrowly missing promotion, but next season’s new play-off structure offers another chance.

After an injury scare against Exeter City, first-team manager Karl Watson has confirmed that midfielder Beth Burgess is back in full training and available for Sunday’s match.
