Tuesday evening Moneys host their first league game of the 2025/26 season, when Hartley Wintney visit the John Jenkins Stadium.
Moneys:
Moneys go into tomorrow’s fixture off the back of 2 competitive wins, in the FA Cup against Brockenhurst and in the league at the weekend, away to Southall.
An early strike at Southall from Jordan Pile set the precedence for the weekend’s fixture, with Moneys controlling large parts of the game and creating multiple chances throughout. Faris Khallouqi doubled Moneys lead in the opening 10 minutes of the second half to confirm Moneys position in the driving seat and setting us up in the best way possible heading into tonight’s match.
Lawrence Cooper came back into the starting XI after recovering from injury and making a substitute appearance in the FA Cup, whilst Faris Khallouqi made his first start and proved to be energetic and troublesome to the Southall defence, Ibrahim Busari made his debut at left-back and looks a good acquisition to the team.
Hartley Wintney:
Hartley Wintney have started off the season brightly, as have Moneyfields, winning their opening two competitive fixtures in the FA Cup and the League, with ‘The Row’ defeating Hamworthy Rec of the Wessex Premier Division and league newboys Hendon.
During pre-season, Hartley Wintney went undefeated, drawing against Tadley Calleva and Southern Premier Division outfit, Hungerford Town. Whilst beating Alton, Abbey Rangers and then beating Baffins Milton Rovers 3-0 in their final outing before competitive football returned.
At the end of last season Joint-Manager John Cook stepped down, with Joint-Manager Jamie Daltry staying on to be the sole First Team Manager at the Memorial Playing Fields, while not technically a new Manager, it will be a slightly different managerial set-up for the 2025/26 season.
While under the Joint-Management of Cook and Daltry, ‘The Row’ finished 10th in the League and had some great results during the season in the League and in Cup competitions.
These started at the end of August, when they beat Leatherhead 3-2 away from home. Then at the start of October they won 5-2 against Ascot United at the Racecourse Ground and a 5-0 thrashing of South Park [Reigate] followed just a fortnight later.
Unfortunately they did beat Moneyfields 4-0 just before Christmas in a well deserved victory at the Memorial Playing Fields.
Another fantastic result ‘The Row’ had was a home win against eventual Play-Off winners Uxbridge, who they beat 5-1 in late January, with a 6-0 ADFA Cup win against CCFL side Knaphill coming shortly after.
Although results tailed off towards the end of the season, they did pick up 4-0 win versus Binfield in March.
