Rewinding back to August 3rd, Moneys Women welcomed Fulham to the John Jenkins Stadium for a pre-season friendly. Excitement was high around the club as new signing Ella Humphrey lined up with her teammates for the first time—just 48 hours before her official signing was due to be announced.

The Wales U19 international, and former Brighton & Hove Albion youth product, joined from Portsmouth, where she remains hugely admired by Blues fans.

Unfortunately, just ten minutes into the match, disaster struck. Ella was forced off with an injury, and while the severity was unclear at the time, scans later revealed the devastating news no footballer ever wants to hear: a ruptured ACL.

Ella shared, “Unfortunately, the costs of surgery, rehabilitation, and physio are far more than I can manage on my own. That’s why I’ve created my fundraiser.

“Your support, whether it’s through donating or sharing my story, would mean the world to me. Every contribution will go directly towards the surgery and recovery I need to get back to doing what I love most: playing football.”

First Team Manager, Karl Watson, added: “We are desperately sad not to have Ella representing us on the pitch—she is a huge talent. But more importantly, she is a great person who has had some rotten luck recently.

“We’ll be there supporting her throughout her rehab, and hopefully, we can see her back on the pitch soon. Any help you can give as part of her campaign is greatly appreciated.”

Although fans have not yet had the chance to see Ella in action, she is already a valued part of the Moneys family. We would be hugely grateful for any support you can give towards her GoFundMe, helping her on the road to recovery and back onto the pitch as soon as possible.
