This weekend, Moneyfields travel to New Malden to take on Fulham in what is arguably the glamour tie of the Third Qualifying Round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Summer signing and club captain Ali Hall has made a hugely positive impact since joining the club in the summer, scoring three goals in seven appearances from midfield. After winning a league and cup double last season with AFC Bournemouth, Hall’s experience and winner’s mentality can help spur her teammates onto victory.
Speaking ahead of Sunday, Hall said: “It’s always great when you meet a team again who you played in pre-season. You both already know a bit about each other, but both teams are likely to have improved within the first few games of the season.”
Fulham are no strangers to Moneys, having locked horns twice over the last two pre-seasons. It’s honours even, with both sides claiming one victory each.
Hall was also asked about what a win would mean to her and the group on Sunday, and what point it would prove beating a side who are currently top of the FA Women’s National League South East Division.
“Of course, Fulham is a huge club and we understand there are differences in terms of club resources, but we’ve got an amazing group of players and staff. We are ready to show what we can do again on Sunday.”
Adding, “It would mean a lot to us to get the win; we want to get as far in any cup as we possibly can. Fulham are a good team, but so are we.”
