Moneys Women secured a commanding 4–1 win over Bristol City PGA in the FA Women’s National League Plate, a result that delighted manager Karl Watson and saw Tierney Scott, who picked up the Player of the Match award.

Reflecting on the performance, Watson admitted the team took a little time to find their rhythm. “We maybe showed a bit of complacency at the start, but once we realised Bristol City were an aggressive, energetic young side, we got to grips with it and took control. We played some really nice football today.”

After one goal and one assist, Scott was named Player of the Match. “I’m really happy,” she said. “It’s the first time in my life I’ve been named player of the match, so it’s quite special. The girls have been great.”

Watson was quick to praise her commitment and development since joining the team. “Tee’s being a bit modest here,” he smiled. “She’s had to work hard since coming in over the summer. If anyone’s earned that award, it’s her.”

Returning to her preferred position, Scott relished the chance to influence the game from wide areas. “I just love playing anywhere on the pitch,” she laughed. “But on the wing is my favourite position, it’s where I feel I can be the best version of myself. I really enjoyed it today.”

With a busy month ahead — including fixtures against Keynsham Town, Bournemouth Sports, Maidenhead United, Bristol Rovers and Swindon Town, the upcoming week off comes at the perfect moment.

“It’s no secret we’ve had a lot of niggles and injuries,” Watson explained. “We had seven out for Fulham, ten out last week, and still a few missing now. The week off, plus a friendly against Spurs midweek, will give us a chance to regroup, recover, and get bodies back for that big run of games.”
