Moneys:
Moneys 7th and final game of a packed October league schedule, comes on Tuesday night at the John Jenkins after having played 6 games, won 5 and drawn 1 so far this month.

There’s no doubt after leaving Fareham Town on Saturday, a point will have felt like defeat in the immediate aftermath. Playing against 10 men for all of the second half and having scored a 92nd minute goal to go 1 goal ahead, all in favour of Moneys on the day must have thought that a 6th straight victory was heading in the direction of PO3. Sadly, it wasn’t to be. Fareham were always in the game and credit to them, because even after conceding that 92nd minute goal, they didn’t give up. Moneys Manager Cal Glen said, “I’m disappointed of course, but I don’t think we deserved to win the game. After they’re down to ten men, we didn’t ask enough questions of them.” On the opposition, “fair play to them, I’ve got a lot of respect for them, for what Woodsy has done, I thought they deserved a point.”

An incredible run that has seen 3 points collected against Binfield, Horndean and Raynes Park Vale at home, as well as away to Bognor Regis Town and Kingstonian. The draw meant Moneys slipped just 1 place down to fourth in the table, still inside the playoffs positions. Having suffered heavy early season defeats, it’s a great place to be in with over a quarter of the season now behind us already.

Faris Khallouqi’s latest goal that opened the scoring, took him joint-top of the race for the golden boot with his 8th goal of the season. The former Guildford City forward has no doubt found a boost of confidence in recent games, having scored 5 goals in the last 4 games.  Jordan Pile found Moneys second goal via a chunky deflection. It was JP’s first goal since the opening day victory away at Southall.

There is believed to be some injuries amongst some regular first team players, however it was great to see Adam Payce and Rudi Blankson back on the pitch in the last 7 days. Both getting good spells against Fareham after having returned from injuries themselves.

Bedfont Sports:
Bedfont play their football from their home of the Bedfont Recreation Ground, which is right next to Terminal 4 of Heathrow airport. They sit just east of the airport site perimeter so its no wonder they’ve taken off since their inception.

‘The Eagles’ as they are known, are the second youngest team in the Isthmian League South Central Division, having only been formed in 2002. Originally they had been a Sunday league outfit, before forming a Saturday senior team in 2003. ‘The Eagles’ joined the Hounslow and District League Division 1 in 2003 and were promoted at their first attempt, going up into the Middlesex County League. That was followed up with a second straight promotion, as they finished 2nd in Division One and were therfore promoted to the Middlesex County Premier League.

Their rise continued as they were promoted to Combined Counties Division 1 in 2008/09 and then up to the Premier Division in 2011/12. They then had their first crack at step 4 in 2017/18, joining the Isthmian League South Central division and stayed there until their first ever relegation in 2022/23. They remained there for just 2 seasons as they were again promoted back to step 4 in 2024/25 by winning the play-offs of the Combined Counties Premier North division.

During their promotion season of 2024/25, top scorer Jared Myers amassed an impressive 28 goals. A feat that saw him catch the eye of much higher clubs, with National League South outfit Slough Town getting his signature.

Bedfont began their season off of the mainland, as their first game was in the FA Cup away at Guernsey where they progressed on penalties. That run continued through 5 rounds as they bested Kingstonian 2-0 in the preliminary round, Littlehampton Town 4-3 in the 1st qualifying round, Hanwell Town 0-1 in the 2nd qualifying around, before finally falling to higher league competition in Slough Town in the 3rd qualifying round with a narrow 1-2 loss.

Their league form has been a very mixed bag which sees them currently sitting mid-table in 11th with 16 points from 12 games. They’ve found wins against Kingstonian, AFC Portchester and the Met Police at home, whilst also picking up 3 points away at Ascot United. They’ve lost however to Hayes & Yeading, Littlehampton Town and Harrow Borough on the road, with their only home loss coming at the weekend to South Park (Reigate). That loss was their first home loss in league competition for over 13 months.

Previous Meetings:
This is the first time the two sides have ever met.

Ones to Watch:
Tyler Robinson: Robinson scored 20 goals last season during Bedfont’s promotion campaign. The forward who started the season wearing the number 9 jersey, but has recently switched to the 14 jersey, has only actually scored 1 goal so far this season. But with the prowess he showed last season, he definitely is not one to be ignored. Robinson’s goal came in their 1-1 draw with Hanworth Villa.

Jude Jakes-Mckay: Current season top-scorer with 4 goals to his name, the number 11 has scored in wins against Kingstonian and Ascot United, whilst also netting in loses to Hayes & Yeading United and Littlehampton Town. Jakes-Mckay also stayed from the previous seasons promotion winning side, where he netted 7 times.

Connagh Wilks: Bedfont’s captain who unusually wears number 13 for an outfield player, has recently made a name for himself with referees, having amassed 5 yellow cards already this season. He also got sent off once last season in that same promotion winning team, whilst also scoring 3 league goals enroute to step 4 football.
