After 90 minutes, where Moneyfields had to come back from a goal down twice and two 15-minute halves of extra-time, Moneys stayed calm and composed with their spot kicks to go through to the quarter-finals of the FA WNL Plate tournament
Meg Fox’s winning penalty, after four earlier spot kicks from Skye-Lousie Granger, Daisy Beard, goalkeeper Hannah Haughton, and Ali Hall, was the difference in Berkshire.
Sophie Phelps and Hall both cancelled Maidenhead’s lead-out twice in both 45-minute halves of normal time, which sent that tie to extra time and then spot kicks.
Karl Watson made two changes to the side that defeated Bournemouth Sports 7-0 on Thursday in league action.
Gemma Simmonds came in for Bekah Tonks in midfield, and Dream Surin replaced Kiera Heslam in the XI.
Moneys had chances to take an early lead, with an effort from Surin going just over the bar, and another shot on goal moments later that smacked the crossbar.
However, it was Maidenhead who struck first, when Megan Harper made up the pace on the counterattack, before slotting the ball home to make it 1-0, 13 minutes gone.
Moneys managed to find an equaliser though, and did so via Sophie Phelps, who was on guard to tap the ball home from a corner to make it 1-1.

Moneys made a change not long into the second 45, with the goalscorer of the first Moneys goal of the afternoon, Sophie Phelps, coming off for Skye-Lousie Granger 53 minutes in.
The Magpies found a way to restore their lead, and did so via their number nine, Izzy Stockton, who thumped the ball home from distance to make it 2-1, 55 minutes gone.
Watson made a second and final change of the game, as winger Daisy Beard replaced Tierney Scott, 56 minutes on the clock.
Just three minutes after Dave Kitson’s side took the lead, Money’s found their second reply of the game, this time it was the captain, Ali Hall, who broke through on goal, before she dinked the ball over the head of Kody Cornish to make it 2-2, 58 minutes gone.
Full-time Maidenhead 2-2 Moneyfields
As per FA WNL Plate rules, the game went straight to two 15-minute halves of extra time, with penalties on the agenda as no side was able to score a winning goal.
Despite no side winning the game in extra time, there were some key moments in the 30 minutes of play, with Moneys having the ball in the back of the net in the first half, but that game was chalked off for offside.
Extra time – Half-time Maidenhead 1-1 Moneyfields
Kitson’s side nearly found the winner at one stage, but Dream Surin jumped into a last-ditch tackle, which denied Maidenhead a shot on goal after their break through had them one-on-one with Haughton.

The afternoon was subsequently decided on spot kicks, with skipper Ali Hall winning the coin toss for Moneys to take the first pen.
Skye-Lousie Granger stepped up first, and the defender thumped the ball past Cornish to make it 1-0.
Maidenhead then actually missed their first penalty, but the referee wanted a re-take because Haughton was off her line, even though her feet were firmly behind the goal line, and the Magpies scored their retake to make it 1-1.
Young Daisy Beard stepped up next and she coolly and calmly scored her spot-kick to make it 2-1, which was followed up with an equalising pen by the hosts to make it 2-2.

Haughton then stepped up herself for the third spot kick for Moneys, and the keeper managed to comfortably thump the ball home to make it 3-2.

The Magpies’ third penalty went over the bar, which kept the score at 3-2, and then Ali Hall stepped up to make it 4-2.

United did score their third to make it 3-4; however, all Meg Fox had to do was score hers, and Moneys were through.
The midfielder did exactly that, as she punched Moneys’ ticket into the quarter-final, winning 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out at York Road.
