Moneys:
Moneys last cup outing was the defeat on penalties to Thame United in the FA Trophy back on the first weekend of September. Moneys sadly made early exits in both of the nationwide FA competitions of the FA Trophy and FA Cup this season. This is the first of the local area cups Moneys will enter this season, whilst we still await who we will face in the Hampshire Senior Cup.
Last time out for Moneys it was, in the end, a relatively comfortable victory against South Park Reigate in Isthmian League South Central Division action on Saturday. Two goals from James Franklyn sandwich a Tayo Singerr effort and Rudi Blankson penalty to give Moneys the 3 points.
Moneys had taken a very early lead through a fantastic piece of play between Adam Payce and James Franklyn, which they then doubled towards the end of the first half when Tayo Singerr closed down the keeper and had the ball cannon off him into the goal.
Roughly half way through the second half Moneys nearly let all the good work slip away as the visitors scored twice in around a minute to bring things level. However, they were only level for around 4 minutes, as Rudi Blankson put away a penalty that was awarded for a hand-ball, and then James Franklyn wrapped up the 3 points with a fantastic solo run and finish,
After the game, Moneys Manager Callum Glen said of the midweek fixture, “they’ll be a few changes, my main focus is always going to be on the league, but we’ll still take a strong side there.” On the opponents, Glen said, “we know they’ll be a tough opposition, they’ve been really good in the league this season.”
Baffins Milton Rovers:
Joint Managers Pete Stiles & Matt Powell are quietly putting together a fantastic run of form where ‘Baffs’ have gone 11 games in the league without defeat. That last defeat came way back in mid-August against 2nd place in the Wessex Premier, Petersfield Town. The only downside of that 11 games is that 4 have been draws so they still sit down in 8th after suffering 3 defeats on the trot to start the season.
Baffins sit just 3 points outside the playoffs in the Wessex Premier Division however, as just 5 points divides the teams placed 3rd through to 9th currently, in what is shaping up to be a really tight fight so far behind the runaway top two of AFC Stoneham and Petersfield Town.
There is a number of ex-Moneys players in the Baffins squad, so plenty of familiar faces will meet tonight. Baffins goalkeeper this season has primarily been Dylan Kramer who was pivotal in Moneys Wessex Premier title success in 2023/24. Upfront as of late is Lewis Beale who turned out for Moneys a number of times towards the end of last season, which included scoring a hat-trick in the crazy end of season 6-5 victory against Rayners Lane.
In recent games across all competitions, since Baffins last defeat at the hands of Reading City in the FA Vase, ‘Baffs’ have scored 15 goals across the last 4 games, including 7 in their last home game against Bemerton Heath Harlequins on November 1st.
Moneys as a higher level team were given a bye into this second round encounter, but Baffins had to face United Services Portsmouth’s Reserve team in the first round, which they comfortably came through 4-0, back on September 16th.

Previous Meetings:
The last time Baffins played Moneys in the PDFA Cup, was in fact at Fratton Park, in the competition’s Final in May 2021. That was a 1-1 draw which resulted in a penalty shoot-out that Moneys won, to retain the PDFA Cup for the second straight season. Steve Hutchings getting the goal for Moneys on the night.
Since then, Baffins won just once against Moneys, and that was back in January 2022 in the Wessex Premier Division. After that Baffins victory, PO3 has remained well and truly Yellow with 5 victories in a row for Moneys.
The last PO3 derby was last season in the Russell Cotes Benevolent Cup. That tie saw Moneys win comfortably 4-1, despite having gone behind. Isaac Kamin, Jafer Mohammad-Kier, Marco de Sousa and former Baffs midfielder Harry Sergeant got the goals.
