Focus returns to the league this coming Saturday afternoon at the John Jenkins, as we see the visit from West London of Hayes & Yeading United, for what is a third straight home game for Moneyfields.

It’s a 3pm kick off in the Isthmian South-Central Division with targets set on a return to winning ways.

Moneys:
Moneys last league outing was the first of 3 straight games at home for Callum Glen’s new look Moneyfields. We welcomed North Hampshire side, Hartley Wintney back on Tuesday 12th August.

It was a game that on reflection, looks a lot worse on paper than the scoreline necessarily presents. A brutally clinical second half from Wintney as they took all 3 points, scoring 3 second half goals without reply, having been level 1-1 at the break. Faris Khallouqi getting Moneys solitary goal of a 1-4 loss.

Next up was local rivals AFC Portchester in the FA Cup, last Saturday infront of a bumper 400+ crowd, a new record for Moneyfields at the John Jenkins Stadium.

Sadly, our FA Cup journey ended at the second stage, with a 1-2 loss, having been 1-0 up at the break. Arguably the game probably deserved to be a draw, but Moneys will have plenty of positivity to take from the game, and plenty of lessons for the players and coaching staff that are new to Step 4 football.

Making his debut last week against Portchester was Jack Farrier who seemed to fit in very well to the Moneys side. Jack has joined us signing on a dual registration with Chichester City.

Starting in midfield and looking calm early on, Farrier then had to adjust to cover the injury of Tom Jeffes, moving into the centre-back position alongside Captain Tom Cain. He was selected as Man of the Match for the performance so we may see him play again depending on the injury status of TJ.

Hayes & Yeading United:
After just the two league games, Hayes & Yeading sit two places beneath us, having scored 1 less goal than Moneys. They have the same record as us so far, with a win and a loss from their league outings.

They started the season with a nervy 3-0 loss away at South Park Reigate on August 9th, but then turned things around in the midweek, with a 2-0 win over recently relegated Egham Town. Jack McKnight and Ryan Ewhare either side of half time with the goals for United.

In the FA Cup last weekend, they beat Sutton Common Rovers 2-1 at home to progress into the 1st Qualifying Round on August 30th. Goals from Jose Sami and Sam Ashton, again either side of half time, were enough for the victory, and to earn them a tie at home against Isthmian Premier side, Whitehawk FC.
