Moneyfields Women delivered a ruthless attacking performance at the John Jenkins Stadium, sweeping aside Abingdon United with a dominant 9–2 victory in the FA WNL Division One South West.

Manager Karl Watson made just one change from the side beaten 2–0 by AFC Bournemouth the previous week, as Maisie Aldridge came into the starting XI in place of Gemma Simmonds.

From the off, Moneys were on the front foot. In only the fourth minute, captain Ali Hall forced United goalkeeper Caitlin Crieire into action with a sharp turn and low drive from the edge of the box.

The breakthrough followed soon after. On six minutes, Shannon Albuery rose highest to meet Beth Burgess’s pinpoint cross, powering a header beyond Crieire to put the hosts in front.

Burgess turned scorer on 15 minutes, curling a sublime free-kick into the roof of the net for her second of the season.

Just three minutes later, Dream Surin marked her first goal for the club, driving into the box and calmly slotting home to make it 3–0.

The home crowd had barely settled before Hall added a fourth, rifling an unstoppable strike into the top corner to cap a devastating six-minute spell.

With Moneys rampant and three goals to the good in quick succession, the game appeared out of sight — even as heavy rain briefly slowed the tempo and allowed Abingdon a foothold.

The visitors eventually clawed one back on 43 minutes. Hannah Haughton saved well in a one-on-one situation, but Molly Lygo reacted quickest to steer in the rebound.

Straight after the restart, Lygo struck again, rounding Haughton to pull Abingdon back to 4–2 and briefly threaten a comeback.

But any momentum was swiftly snuffed out on 56 minutes, Megan Fox restored the cushion with a low-driven effort — her third goal of the campaign.

Seven minutes later, Hall pounced again, latching onto a clever through ball. Crieire got fingertips to her initial lofted effort, but she calmly followed up to tap into an empty net for her second of the match.

Substitute Daisy Beard made an instant impact on the left-hand side and on 80 minutes, scored her first goal for the club to make it 7–2, before Surin struck again six minutes later to complete her brace.

Fox then added further gloss in stoppage time, netting her fourth of the season to round off a rampant 9–2 win.
