Tuesday night sees the re-arranged visit of Egham Town to the John Jenkins Stadium, in Isthmian League South Central Division action.
Moneys:
Last time out Moneys finally got back to winning ways after 7 games without a win.
It was a first game in 10 days, but it seemed at first that the break hadn’t made any difference for Moneys, as they went 0-2 down to goals from Dembele and Laycock. However goals from Rudi Blankson, Faris Khallouqi and Louis Gates got Moneys back to winning ways with a 3-2 full time score.
It brought the end of a baron run in the win column and a much needed confidence boost for Callum Glen’s team. Moneys had been scoring plenty, but conceding even more as of late. Glen did still state his unhappiness at the way in which goals were conceded in his post match interview, but wanted to focus on the success of beating “the biggest team in the league” to earn that much needed 3 points.
The previous match to the Bognor game, was the FA Trophy penalty shootout loss to Thame United. Moneys had lead 2-1 going into added time, but then conceded late and went on to lose on penalties.
Moneys have now had more games needed to be re-arranged due to other teams FA Cup and FA Trophy progress. September 27th was meant to be Moneys hosting Bedfont Sports, but that has now been rearranged to Tuesday October 28th. We also were due to travel to Harrow Borough on October 4th, but their FA Trophy progress means this game needs to be moved. However in its place, our visit to South Park (Reigate) has been brought forward from April next year, to October 4th instead.
Egham Town:
Egham return to Step-4 after winning promotion last season from the Combined Counties Premier North. They won that division by 9 points and even recorded an 11-0 victory against Hilltop. Manager Jordan Berry masterminded the promotion having previously left Egham for Harrow Borough in 2023, only to return for the 2024/25 season.
The club was initially established as Runnymede Rovers in 1877, later reconstituted as Egham in 1905. They secured the West Surrey League title in the 1921–22 season, subsequently becoming founding members of the Surrey Senior League in 1922 and winning the league in its inaugural season.
Egham have had a slow start to their league campaign and sit bottom with just 1 point, but they have only played 3 league games after cup runs in the FA Cup and FA Trophy has meant postponements in the league. They got that first point on the board last Tuesday night, as they drew 3-3 with Raynes Park Vale. Jordi Youri Ebanda got two and Reece York getting a late equaliser gave ‘the Sarnies’ their first league points of the season. This was their first league game in over a month as they went from August 12th to September 16th, only playing cup games.
The previous weekend on September 13th, had seen their FA Cup run end in the 2nd qualifying round away to Deal Town. They had previously beaten Corinthians and Beckenham Town, before losing 2-1 on the road in Kent. Egham’s cup runs have now meant that Tuesdays game begins a Tuesday-Saturday, two game a week run, all the way until the end of October for the Sarines.
Previously in the league, they had lost 1-2 at home to Harrow Borough and 2-0 away to Hayes & Yeading. Connor Cullen getting their only league goal of August.

Previous Meetings:
Its a first meeting between the two sides since 2018, when Moneys and Egham played in the Southern League Division One East. In October 2017, Moneys hosted Egham at the old Dover Road ground, beating Egham 2-0. The return fixture in April 2018, saw Moneys leave Egham with 3 points after a 1-2 victory.
Ones to Watch:
Connor Cullen: Top scorer so far with 3 goals, the number 9 is undoubtedly the lead man for the Sarnies. He netted 10 times for Egham last season, whilst also getting 2 for Rayners Lane. He has so far scored against Harrow in a 1-2 loss, Corinthian in the 2-2 FA Cup Draw and then again against Corinthian in the 4-0 replay win.
Jordi Youri Ebanda: Jordi netted twice in the Egham’s most recent game, the 3-3 draw against Raynes Park Vale. He helped Egham come back from 2-0 down, to 2-2 by half time.
Reece York: Captain supreme against Raynes Park Vale, York got the late equaliser in SW20, bringing his second goal of the season. This already matches his total for last year, so York who often wears number 5, is in some form.
