Moneyfields produced a dominant performance at the John Jenkins Stadium on Sunday afternoon, sweeping aside Keynsham Town 6–0 in the FA Women’s National League South West Division.
A first-half hat trick from Shannon Albuery, including a confidently taken penalty, set the tone for a commanding win that showcased the Moneys’ attacking power and resilience.
The match kicked off with Moneyfields immediately asserting control, creating several early chances as they looked to build on recent strong performances.
In the 13th minute, the breakthrough came. Beth Burgess broke down the right and cut the ball across the face of goal for Albuery to tap home from close range, giving the hosts a deserved 1–0 lead.
Moneyfields continued to pile on the pressure, coming agonisingly close to a second just minutes later. A flurry of chances saw Albuery, Ali Hall, and Tierney Scott all go close — the latter’s header crashing off the crossbar after a goalmouth scramble.
At the other end, goalkeeper Mia King was called into action in the 37th minute, pulling off an outstanding save to deny Keynsham an equaliser and preserve Moneyfields’ advantage.
Just two minutes later, Moneyfields’ pressure paid off again. Albuery was brought down inside the area, winning a penalty which she confidently dispatched herself in the 41st minute to make it 2–0 before half-time.
The home side continued to dominate possession and territory, moving the ball with pace and precision as Keynsham struggled to cope with their intensity.
After the break, the Moneys’ momentum only grew stronger. Watson’s side attacked with confidence, stretching the Keynsham defence and creating openings across the front line.
Gemma Simmonds killed off the match early into the second half when she scored her first of the season in the forty-seventh minute from a Megan Fox free kick.
Albuery completed her hat-trick midway through the second half, capping off a superb all-round display from the forward.
With relentless pressing and sharp movement in attack, the home side added a late goal through Bekah Tonks to round off a comprehensive 6–0 victory.

Manager and Player Reflections
Speaking after the match, Manager Karl Watson praised his side’s performance but acknowledged there’s still room for improvement:
“It was a bit of a mixed bag,” he said. “We played some great football at times but got a bit comfortable in parts. We could have scored more, but we carried on fighting until the end. Six–nil — job done, on to the next.”
Hat-trick hero Shannon Albuery was delighted to be back among the goals, “I’m over the moon,” she said. “It’s taken a while for me to start scoring again, but it felt great to get three today. I probably could’ve had a few more, but I’ll take that!”
