On Thursday evening, Moneyfields FC Women will face Bournemouth Sports Ladies in a 20:00 kick-off in the FA Women’s National League Division One South West.

Thursday’s tie is a fixture that was originally meant to take place at Chapel Gate last Wednesday; however, the game was unfortunately called off.

A date was then proposed in New Milton for Wednesday, 5th November, but that then got cancelled, with both clubs coming to a solution that the game can take place at the John Jenkins Stadium on Thursday, 6th November.

Karl Watson’s side are fresh off the back of an impressive 6-0 win over Keynsham Town Ladies this past Sunday, which saw a hat-trick from Shannon Albuery and goals from Skye-Louise Granger, Gemma Simmonds, and Bekah Tonks that secured the three points.

Opposition Overview:

Managed by Vincent Marmion, Bournemouth Sports occupy fifth in the league, and come into this time after a 1-0 victory away at Ascot United last Sunday.

Marmion’s side has accumulated 10 points so far this season and currently sit nine points behind Moneys in 2nd.

Sports and Moneys have already locked horns this season; however, that was in Group E of the FA WNL Cup, where Moneys needed a win to at least qualify for the Plate, in which they did with a 3-0 victory, which saw a goal from Daisy Beard and a brace by Tierney Scott.

Manager’s View:

First Team Manager, Karl Watson said, “We come into this match on the back of a composed and professional victory over Keynsham Town, a side that has caused us plenty of problems in the past. It was a pleasing performance that reflected the progress this group continues to make.

“Tonight’s opponents are familiar to us. We know their strengths just as they know ours, and the key for us will be to take our chances and limit the opportunities they have to get into the game.”
