Goalkeeper Hannah Haughton scored one of the five penalties that sent Moneyfields through to the FA Women’s National League Plate quarter-finals

The shot-stopper also saved Maidenhead’s first penalty; however, that had to be retaken, but Haughton kept the mind games going, as the Magpies missed their third pen of the shootout.

Hannah said: “It was a big team performance, we had to dig in right to the very end, Maidenhead made it really difficult for us, and credit where credit’s due.

I thought they were superb, they got in behind the ball, they defended with their lives and put us on the ropes quite a few times, so fair play to them, but it was a big team performance to get the win eventually.”

Before joining Moneys, Haughton sustained a dislocated shoulder during her time at Portsmouth, which put her on the sidelines for an extended period of time.

Speaking on if that is the most football she has played, Han said: “Yeah, no comment (she laughed). My legs are in pieces, I’m not going to lie, but again, I wouldn’t want to do it with any other group of girls either.”

Hannah was also asked whether it was in the plans for her to take a spot kick, which Han stated: “Well, if I take a pen, I hope to score!

Probably not the best one I’ve ever taken, but the power on it beat the keeper, so I’m happy with that and to score for the team.”

We finally asked Han how far she believes Moneys can go in the FA WNL Plate tournament. Han added: “I think we can go all the way with this group of girls, the mentality, how we dig in deep for each other and never give up, I think we can go all the way.

And today was tough, and we just showed that we have that extra edge where needed, whether it’s extra time, normal minutes, or pens, we can find a way.”
