Meg Fox scored the fifth and deciding penalty to win the game at York Road, sending Moneyfields into the last eight of the FA WNL Plate

Fox said: “We left it till the last minute, didn’t we? Fair play to Mainhead. They fought to the end, they knew exactly what we were going to do, and they had to shut it off.

They worked really hard, and it made us struggle to play football. So fair play to them, but overall happy to get through even if it was on pen, so it’s amazing.”

Yesterday’s tie was the third game Moneys have played in one week, and the second game in only four days, with no training session in between.

On how her legs were after the game, Meg stated: “What legs at this point? (She laughed).

It’s good to still get game time and keep the legs ticking over, we’ve still got a big week next week, so it’s all about recovery this week, which is very, very important.

Not only do we have to recover the legs physically, but also mentally as well; we have to reset.”

The month of November continues to be a busy one for Moneys, who face 3rd place Bristol Rovers next Sunday, and then it is a top of the table clash away at Swindon on November 30th.

Foxy believes: “It’s massive, for us to dig deep and get through to the end is amazing, so I think when we come against Bristol and Swindon, it’s going to be more of a fight.

I now think we’ve got that mentality, and we’ve just got to keep taking that into every single game.

Finally, we asked Meg how it felt to score the winning penalty and what it meant to her and the team.

Meg added: “It felt amazing. To be honest, I wasn’t really up for taking one.

I think it’s a bit too close for me (she laughed), I normally sky them, so it is absolutely amazing that it sent us into the next round, so I am absoutley buzzing. Well, I am knackered!”.
