Moneys:
After the emotional rollercoaster of Moneys unbeaten October and then a rocky start to November, it’s been a great 7 days with back to back, league then cup victories for Callum Glen and his Moneys side.
Last Saturday saw Moneys return to winning ways in the league, with a mostly competent win against South Park Reigate.
The scoreline was 4-2, but those 2 goals came as somewhat of a shock in a 5 minute spell that saw Captain Tom Cain get injured and Moneys briefly struggle to adjust around the necessary changes at that stage of the match.
A penalty from Rudi Blankson and a great solo run and finish from James Franklyn got Moneys back into a 2 goal lead and help wrap up the 3 points.
In midweek, Moneys visited PO3 neighbours more than rivals, in Baffins Milton Rovers in the PDFA Cup. An entirely professional and clinical first 45 minutes had the game wrapped up by half time, as Moneys went in 0-4 in the lead at the PMC Stadium.
Two goals from Simba Mlambo alongside a goal each for Rudi Blankson and Jack Lumsden left Moneys able to make comfortable changes in the second half, bringing on a combination of youth and reserve team players who had earnt their respective opportunities.
Westfield:
Formally known often as Westfield FC (Surrey) due a team with identical name in Sussex, ‘the Field’ were established in 1953 and renamed to their current name in 1962.
Westfield gained promotion to Step 4 football in the 2017/18 season. They won the Combined Counties Football League title, with an impressive 6 games still to play. This was the first time Westfield had earned the right to play at Step 4.
On paper, this has to be Moneys toughest game of the season since AFC Portchester in August when Moneys were in an entirely different vein of form.
Westfield are currently 2nd in the Isthmian League South Central Division, just 1 point behind Leatherhead as the runaway duo at the top of the league. Despite being just 2 places behind Westfield, Moneys are 10 points adrift of the Woking area side, having both played the same amount of games.
Westfield are on a current run of 10 unbeaten league games, with 9 of those being wins. In this run they have put 7 past Hayes & Yeading at home without response, as well as 3 without response against Littlehampton Town, Bognor Regis Town and Horndean.

Previous Meetings:
Last season was the first meetings between the two sides as home victories were seen for both Moneys at Westfield.
Moneys hosted and won first, in October last year. A 2-0 victory with goals from Lamin Jatta and James Franklyn, gave Moneys only their second win and first clean sheet of the season.
The reverse fixture in February was won 2-1 by Westfield. Our goal came by virtue of an own goal.
